Strategic Planning

for Businesses

We help our business clients with long-range strategic planning, to help realize their dreams. We help our business clients form their entities, and advise them with respect to ongoing business decisions to help them operate in a tax-efficient manner. The manner in which a business is formed has long-lasting tax implications. Our attorneys help clients choose the form of their entity to ensure beneficial tax implications. Once our clients' businesses are formed, we advise them regarding day-to-day business operations to make sure they are making smart tax-related decisions. When terminating a business or partnership, there are many tax matters to consider. Our attorneys ensure clients terminate their businesses in the most tax-effective manner possible so they can begin the next chapter of their lives in a financially stable position. We can also help our clients with their offshore accounts, to ensure they are compliant with U.S. Tax Law.

We Help Clients Find

Relief

When They Need It the Most

Our firm focuses on helping our clients make smart decisions that reduce their personal or business tax liabilities and ultimately resolve their tax disputes. Clients throughout the state turn to our firm when they need experienced tax professionals to guide them through their civil and criminal tax controversy disputes. We put to work our years of experience in dealing with state and federal taxation authorities to ensure the highest caliber of service and representation for our clients. We help individuals and businesses resolve their tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR), and represent individuals and businesses during IRS or state audits. We also help individuals resolve their federal and state income tax issues.

If you are facing an audit, have received notices of deficient tax payments, or are being threatened with tax levies, wage garnishments, or collection actions -- we can help. Our experienced team gets to work on your behalf immediately, taking steps to protect your rights and your property from seizure. We investigate deficiency claims to ensure that the liability is correct and that our clients are credited for payments they have made. Depending on the amount and nature of our clients' tax liabilities, we use a variety of tools — offers in compromise, innocent spouse actions, installment agreements and request for abatements — to reduce tax liabilities and assist in defending and negotiating collection actions.

Protecting Clients From Criminal Tax Charges

Our criminal tax attorneys represent clients who have been charged with criminal tax offenses whether local, state or federal including charges for tax evasion, fraudulent returns, willful failure to pay taxes and engaging in abusive tax schemes. Taxpayers who have been accused of involvement in fraudulent or illegal tax evasion schemes may face large fines and even prison time. On top of it all, many taxpayers also face termination and jeopardy assessments, which are automatic and not subject to the usual safeguards and processes involved in civil IRS audits. Our firm has successfully defended our clients during every stage of their criminal tax charges. From pre-indictment through trial and appeals — we provide in-depth counsel and advice our clients need to achieve the best resolution possible.

Trust in our experience and the tradition of excellence, make our firm your first choice to handle all of your civil or criminal tax law needs.
